Further 778 COVID-19 cases recorded in Da Nang on Feb.2
Da Nang documented 778 coronavirus infections on Wednesday, February 2, of which 544 were found in the community, eight at centralised quarantine establishments and the 226 remaining ones were found during at-home quarantine periods.
Of the aforementioned community-acquired cases, 319 were detected through tests at public and private medical facilities citywide during their intentional visits there for regular medical checkups.
Meanwhile, 220 patients were found to be contract the coronavirus via rapid tests conducted by the staff of ward/commune-levelled medical stations.
The remaining community-based patients consisted of one employee at a local business and four returnees to Da Nang from other coronavirus-stricken localities.
Cases with a high risk of further community transmission were recorded at all local districts: 92 in Son Tra, 91 in Hai Chau, 90 in Lien Chieu, 88 in Thanh Khe, 70 in Hoa Vang, 66 in Cam Le and 43 in Ngu Hanh Son.
Also on the same day, a combined total of 2,672 residents across the city had their nasal swab samples taken by the local medical staff for COVID-19 testing, of whom 709 tested for the virus via the RT-PCR technique whilst the rest were subject to the rapid antigen testing.
Till date, 2,169,219 shots of vaccines against COVID-19 have been administered across the city. Of the vaccinated people throughout Da Nang, 980,979 have received the first jab, whilst 961,771 have got the second dose, and 226,469 have accessed the third shot against the highly contagious disease.
Currently, a total of 110 people who are COVID-19 close contacts are kept in 5 centralised quarantine facilities.
