Over 1,200 Da Nang youths eagerly join army
A combined total of 1,275 young men across Da Nang, on Wednesday morning, said farewell to their family members and friends to join the compulsory military and police services for required terms.

The new recruit handover ceremonies were held in all local districts in a joyful and cozy ambiance, with the attendance of their family members, beloved ones and representatives from the Da Nang authorities.
Candidates were selected from each district of the city and had to undergo a strict pre-qualification process.
The citizens who join the military and police services this year have all received two or more doses of COVID-19 vaccines and had negative COVID-19 test results.
The send-off ceremonies across the city took place in solemn and prompt manner with safety measures against COVID-19 put strictly in place. Participants were subject to wear face masks and keep a safe distance in adherence to COVID-19 prevention guidelines.

The city’s Party chief presented congratulatory bouquets and extended his words of great encouragement to recruits in a bid to inspire them to fulfill their assigned tasks well.

According to a report by the Son Tra District administration, a combined total of 175 totally eligible young people across the district have been enlisted to serve in military and police forces this year.
The new recruits across the city could not hide their excitement as they had the chance to serve their city, and their nation at large. All of them also expressed their determination to fulfill their assigned tasks well.
In a similar vein, Da Nang Party Committee Standing Deputy Secretary cum municipal People's Council Chairman Luong Nguyen Minh Triet, municipal Party Committee Deputy Secretary cum municipal People's Committee Chairman Le Trung Chinh, municipal People's Committee Standing Vice Chairman Ho Ky Minh, municipal People's Committee Vice Chairman Tran Phuoc Son and municipal People's Committee Vice Chairwoman Ngo Thi Kim Yen attended other see-off ceremonies for recruits in Thanh Khe, Hai Chau, Cam Le, Lien Chieu and Hoa Vang districts, respectively.
Under the Law on Military Service, all male citizens of ages 18-25 (or 18-27 for college and university students who have their conscription delayed for study) from all rural areas, city districts, organs, state enterprises, and vocational schools must serve in the armed forces for a limited time, usually 24 months, if they meet the introduction criteria of the annual state plan.
Women may register in the spirit of volunteering if they are members of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union.
