Work commences on park outside Hoa Vang Martyrs' Cemetery
Work started on the construction of a park outside the Hoa Vang Martyrs’ Cemetery and the Spring Tree Planting Festival 2022 was launched in Da Nang on Saturday.

In attendance at the event were Da Nang Party Committee Secretary Nguyen Van Quang and other key city leaders.
Addressing the event, Da Nang People’s Committee Chairman Le Trung Chinh emphasized that the construction of a park outside this martyrs’ cemetery demonstrates the time-honoured tradition of “When Drinking Water, Think of its Source” to show a deep gratitude to heroic martyrs who laid down their lives for the nation’s re-unification.
Cam Le District is responsible for managing the project in the best way to both preserve and promote cultural and historical values so that this place can become a place of promoting traditional education, maintaining national cultural values and organising revolutionary traditional educational activities for younger generations while creating a healthy and civilized environment landscape in the residential area.

The Hoa Vang Martyrs’ Cemetery (also known as Khue Trung Martyrs’ Cemetery) is a national relic site, located in the complex of Khue Trung Historical - Cultural Relic Area in Khue Trung Ward, Cam Le District.
This is the resting place of more than 1,000 patriotic soldiers who passed away in the early days of fighting against the French colonialists.
The Da Nang government has given the go-ahead to the spending of nearly VND10 billion from the municipal budget on building work items outside the cemetery.
Covering an area of more than 6,000m², this project will highlight a yard dedicated to solemn rituals, a green-covered park, fountains, a parking lot, the lighting system, fences and other auxiliary facilities.

On this occasion, Chairman Chinh also called on each local citizen to plant and take care of a green tree, to join hands with the local administration to improve the healthy living environment.
Immediately after the launching ceremony, the city leaders and representatives of municipal agencies participated in the Lunar New Year 2022 tree planting programme at this cemetery.
On the same day, the Son Tra and Lien Chieu governments launched tree planting campaigns.
14 fruit trees and 200 urban ones were planted in parks for strolls in Son Tra District’s An Hai Tay Ward whilst a total of 55 mango and acacia trees were planted in several locations throughout Lien Chieu District.
In a similar vein, the Da Nang Federation of Labour organised the Tree Planting Festival 2022.
A total of 1,000 trees of all kinds were planted at the workers' housing areas and internal roads inside the Hoa Cam Industrial Zone (IZ) and at some business premises in the Hoa Khanh IZ.
Da Nang is on track to implement the ‘Planting one billion trees in the 2021-2025 period’ project, heading towards the target of more than 5 billion trees by the end of 2025 in a great effort to protect the environment, improve the landscape and actively respond to climate change, this contributing to improving the people's life quality.
