Police in the Crime Investigation Division of the Da Nang Department of Public Security, on Tuesday, prosecuted and issued an arrest warrant for 55-year-old Phan Thiet Hung, residing in Thanh Khe Dong Ward, Thanh Khe District, for organising gambling via cockfights.

People were arrested in an illegal cockfighting ring at K52/7 Bau Lang Street in Thanh Khe Dong Ward, Thanh Khe District.

Also, the police detained 21 other people for the investigation of gambling behaviour, and continued verifying and handling more than 20 related subjects.

Through reconnaissance, police in the Crime Investigation Division detected an illegal cockfighting ring at K52/7 Bau Lang Street in Thanh Khe Dong Ward, Thanh Khe District.

At noon on March 27, police officers conducted a raid at that address, capturing 43 gamblers and confiscating an amount of VND67 million in cash at the casino. In addition, the police force also seized the total amount of VND500 million from subjects present at the scene.

Initial investigation results determined that the casino was located in the house of Hung and his wife. Hung and his wife use the living room of the house as a place to fight cocks. For each round of cockfighting, Hung will collect 10% of the gamblers' total bet.

The case is still under further investigation.
