Limiting adverse impacts in Da Nang planning on the environment
The Da Nang Department of Natural Resources and the Environment on Tuesday held a consultation workshop on the strategic environmental assessment report of the Da Nang planning from now to 2030, with a vision towards 2050.
The strategic environmental assessment report sets out the issues of integrating and scientifically linking environmental objectives with socio-economic ones, and provides complete and comprehensive predictions on environmental change trends and possible environmental impacts when implementing the planning work.
The content of the strategic environmental assessment report also analysed and forecasts the impacts on environmental, ecological and resource issues of the above-mentioned planning and proposed solutions to minimize adverse impacts to the environment and problems arising in the process of implementing development planning so as to protect the environment, maintain biodiversity, exploit and use resources rationally in a sustainable way, achieve the goals of the project ‘Building Da Nang into an Environmentally-friendly city".
At the workshop, scientists, experts and managers promoted exchanges and discussions to complete the content of orientations and solutions of the strategic environmental assessment report, especially solutions for environmental protection of water, air, natural forests and biodiversity, along with issues such as sea level rise, biosecurity, greenhouse effect, emission reduction targets to zero by 2050.
