Operation of storm drain to on Da Nang beach need checking
Since March 7, the technical infrastructure construction contractor for The Mandarin Oriental Da Nang Resort Residences project, invested by The Nam Khang Joint Stock Company has been constructing of a storm drain leading to a beach near the entrance to the south of the Future Property Invest Resort, having bothered many beach goers over recent times.
What is worth mentioning is that this rain sewer is only about 20 metres from the existing two-sluice gate drain on the entrance to the beach.
During the stormy season in 2020 and 2021, the large flow of rain water coming out of this two-sluice gate drain combined with seawaves creates turbulent currents that erode most of this beach.
Many residents are concerned that once the storm drain of The Mandarin Oriental Da Nang Resort Residences project is put into use, a section of the beach will be eroded in the rainy season.
Therefore, some residents suggested that the authorities ask the project investor to integrate the aforementioned rainwater drainage sewer system of this project into the two-sluice gate drain to prevent any erosion.
