Parking to be temporarily banned on some streets in Da Nang for DNIM 2022
The Manulife Da Nang International Marathon (DNIM) 2022 will bring around 5,000 runners to the central city on Saturday, March 19, closing streets and disrupting traffic, parking in Ngu Hanh Son , Son Tra and Hai Chau districts.
The marathon, which will occur between 4:00 p.m. and 5:30 p.m. on March 19, and between 3:00 a.m. and 11:00 a.m. on March 20, will take runners through some streets in the above-mentioned districts. Some the street will be temporarily closed to traffic, and strict “no parking” restrictions along the route will be imposed on these streets.
The Marathon will take place on March 19 and March 20. The course sprawls across several streets, including Vo Nguyen Giap, Nguyen Van Thoai, Tran Thi Ly Bridge, extended Bach Dang, Nhu Nguyet, Thuan Phuoc Bridge, Le Duc Tho, Hoang Sa, and Le Van Luong.
The races will also affect Nguyen Phan Vinh, Vuong Thua Vu and Tran Huu Tuoc streets.
Da Nang police will not allow vehicles to park along the route, which means owners will have to move their vehicles before the event. Residents and travelers will need to plan ahead to get out of the marathon’s routes.
DNIM 2022 will comprise a 42,195 km full marathon, a 21.0975km half marathon, a 10km run, and a 5km run.
Runners will take over the streets of the East Sea Park, Vo Nguyen Giap - Nguyen Van Thoai - Tran Thi Ly Bridge – extended Bach Dang - Nhu Nguyet - Thuan Phuoc Bridge - Le Duc Tho - Hoang Sa - Le Van Luong for a 42,195 km full marathon and a 21.0975km half marathon. Marathon runners will run 2 laps of the full and half marathon course routes.
Runners of the 10km race will start at the East Sea Park, head west to Vo Nguyen Giap where racers will back east to the intersection of Nguyen Van Thoai and Vo Nguyen Giap, the intersection of Hoang Sa and Phan Vinh and turn on Vo Nguyen Giap, and finish the race east into the East Sea Park.
Runners of the 5km race will start at the East Sea Park, head west to Vo Nguyen Giap where racers will back east to the intersection of Vo Nguyen Giap and Nguyen Van Thoai, the intersection of Hoang Sa and Vuong Thua Vu, and finish the race east into the East Sea Park.
Besides, Ronny Dash – a 1.5 km race for kids aged between 3 and 10 will also start at the East Sea Park. This exciting event aims at encouraging children to be more active, healthy, and show their love with Da Nang. Runners of Ronny Dash will head west to Vo Nguyen Giap where racers will back east to the intersection of Vo Nguyen Giap and Tran Huu Tuoc, and finish the race east into the East Sea Park.
Marathon courses will start and finish in the same location at the East Sea Park.
