Under the authorisation of the Chairman of the Da Nang People's Committee, Colonel Nguyen Van Tang, Deputy Director of the municipal Police Department awarded a bonus to the Anti-Criminal Police Team, the Son Tra District Police for their achievements in investigating, busting and arresting a group of juveniles who committed 7 inter-provincial motorbike thefts.

Previously, Son Tra District Police had prosecuted and detained three suspects, namely Nguyen Ba Tuan, 18, residing in Lien Chieu District), Tran Dinh Y, 28 and Huynh Van Hung, 15, both residing in Son Tra District, for the investigation into the act of ‘stealing property’.

From January to March 2022, in Son Tra District, there were a series of motorbike thefts, most of their victims were immigrant residents.

Upon receiving reports from the peopel, scouts from the Anti-Criminal Police Team of the Son Tra District Police entered the verification process and discovered that Tuan was the leader of a group consisting of juveniles aged 13 – 16 that majored in conducting motorbike thefts.

Y and Hung were in charge of transporting the stolen vehicles whose number plates were changed to Quang Ngai and Gia Lai provinces for consumption.

On March 10, these criminals were caught red - handed conducting another motorcycle theft in Da Nang and all of them were arrested. Through further investigations, the law enforcement force arrested 11 more suspects involved in the ring.
