The Drug-related Crime Investigation Team of the Son Tra District Police has just arrested a drug dealer residing in Thanh Khe District.

During a regular patrol, the scouts of the Son Tra District Police pulled over a couple with some suspicious expressions on their motorcycle on Pham Van Dong route for check. The road users were caught red-handed carrying more than 20 diamond-shaped blue tablets, suspected to be synthetic ecstasy.

Upon detection, the two suspected tried to run away but they were arrested by the scouts.

At the police station, the young man confessed his name was Tran Van Tin, 26, residing in Tan Chinh Ward, Thanh Khe District.

The aforementioned tablets are synthetic drugs in the form of ecstasy bought from another suspect for more than VND10 million for resale to earn hefty profits.

The Son Tra District Police has established procedures to prosecute against Tin on the charge of ‘illegal trading of narcotics’
