Da Nang calls for more resources to turn itself into environmentally-friendly city
A workshop took place in Ha Noi on Friday to exchange and share experience on environmental protection, as well as discuss effective solutions to mobilise resources for the implementation of environmental protection programmes in Da Nang.
The event was jointly organised by the Da Nang Department of Natural Resources and Environment, the municipal Department of Agriculture and Rural Development, the municipal Department of Education and Training, the district-level authorities, the Centre for Supporting Green Development (GreenHub), the Centre for Environment and Community Research (CECR), the Live and Learn for Environment and Community (Live&Learn), and the management board of the ‘Clean Cities, Blue Oceans’ (CCBO).
During the workshop, a representative from the Da Nang Department of Natural Resources and Environment briefed the participants on the project 'Building Da Nang into an Environmentally-friendly City' for the 2021 - 2030 period, as well as asked for support from partners, and domestic and foreign organisations, to help Da Nang implement the project effectively.
Also at the event, some participants informed about the implementation progress of some ongoing projects and programmes in Da Nang such as the CECR-funded ‘Collective Actions for Water Conservation’ (CAWACON) project, the GreenHub-deployed ‘Local solutions for plastic pollution' project (GreenHub), the ‘Clean Cities, Blue Oceans’ programme, and the Live&Learn model.
During their stay in Ha Noi, the Da Nang delegation visited and shared their environmental protection initiatives and models with Dong Anh District, especially a organic waste classification model for growing organic vegetables.
Also, the Da Nang visitors attended a workshop to share experiences and solutions for waste classification and treatment in Ha Noi.
