In his speech delivered at the launching ceremony of the campaign, Standing Vice Chairman of the municipal People's Committee Ho Ky Minh asked the city’s Department of Public Security to develop detailed plans and several possible scenarios to arrange forces and vehicles to be ready to promptly handle unexpected security and order incidents.

Standing Vice Chairman Minh highly praised local police for their great efforts in fights against crime, thereby significantly contributing to maintaining political stability and security, and social order and safety in the city.

He took the opportunity to ask the entire city police force to continue to do better to effectively fight against crime, and guarantee social security and safety in the city in the time to come.

Special attention should be paid to closely coordinating with departments, agencies, sectors and localities to ensure traffic, and fire and explosion prevention in the city.

Local police are urged to actively detect and prevent plots and activities by hostile forces, and resolve security hotspots in the city.

“Street patrols will be increased in a bid to promptly detect and handle the violations of traffic laws and criminal cases during the public holidays. Police officers will be on duty at the busiest intersections to control road traffic flows during peak hours, and during special events” emphasised Mr.Minh.

After the opening ceremony of the campaign, the city's police forces simultaneously were out across the city working proactively to target those flouting the law to ensure traffic order and safety for the upcoming National Reunification Day (April 30) and Labour Day (May 1) holiday, the forthcoming 31st Southeast Asian Games, and the tourism peak season.
