It is forecast that there will be a significant increase in the demand for travel, with many potential complicated factors in terms of security, and traffic order and safety.

Therefore, traffic police in Da Nang have been proactive in taking even more drastic measures to ensure the city’s traffic safety and security over the forthcoming public holiday.

The municipal Department of Public Security has directed police units and localities to develop detailed plans to guarantee traffic security and absolute safety during important events, and in key locations, in order to prevent unexpected situations to maintain stability in the situation of political security, social order and safety in the locality.

Also, local police have been asked to coordinate with functional bodies to conduct inspection visits to tourism service providers and remind them to ensure security and safety for visitors.

Street patrols will be increased in a bid to promptly detect and handle the violations of traffic laws and criminal cases during the public holidays. Police officers will be on duty at the busiest intersections to control road traffic flows during peak hours, and during special events.

In particular, the city's traffic police force will continue to come out across the city working proactively to target those flouting the law. The focus will be on swarming main streets to carry out random vehicle stops in a bid to detect and deal with alcohol and drug-related violations by road users, combat illegal racing, and handle oversized, overloaded vehicles.

Strict punishment will be imposed on people who violate traffic safety regulations, especially those are driving with alcohol content exceeding the permitted level.

On the other hand, importance will be attached to urging local residents and tourists to stay vigilant against crime and to coordinate with local police force in the fight against crime.

“Da Nang is known as a safe, friendly and peaceful destination for both domestic and foreign visitors. That good image is the result of great contribution and efforts made by many branches, forces and locals, including the important, regular and outstanding contribution of the city's police force. The images of police conducting day and night patrols on each route and street corner leave a deep impression and create peace of mind for residents and visitors every time when they come to the city" said Pham Tan Hung, a tourist from Ha Noi.
