Da Nang takes actions to prevent drowning accidents
The Da Nang Commanding Board for Natural Disaster Prevention and Control, Search and Rescue and Civil Defence has sent a dispatch requesting relevant local agencies to take effective measures to prevent drowning accidents, especially to children during summer vacation and rainy season at sites of cultural, sports, tourism and entertainment activities in the aquatic environment, in order to ensure human safety and minimise damage.
Accordingly, functional local bodies shall release warnings or intervention to eliminate risks and hazards leading to the risk of drowning accidents, disseminate procedures and skills for handling search and rescue situations, drowning prevention and drowning techniques.
Simultaneously, it is a need to complete a plan to mobilise forces and means to ensure safety and overcome damage triggered by drowning accidents, promptly update dangerous weather forecasts and warnings to agencies, organisations or establishments that specialise in offering cultural, sports, tourism and entertainment services in the aquatic environment.
Last, but not least, it is necessary to thoroughly grasp and synchronously deploy solutions to prevent some types of accidents in the water environment, including the work of avoiding drowning for the community, especially protecting children.
