Da Nang to brace for northeast monsoon impacts
The Da Nang Commanding Committee for Disaster Mitigation, Search and Rescue and Civil Defence has released warnings against the northeast monsoon that may affect Da Nang and other regional cities and provinces. Relevant local agencies shall take proactive measures to cope up with this weather pattern.
According to the Central Central Coast Hydrometeorological Station, due to the influence of strong cold air, from April 18 till 19, scattered showers and thunderstorms are highly likely to occur in Da Nang, along with wind levels 2-3 in the mainland, and wind levels 3-4 and gusts above level 4 along coastal area.
Likewise, the waters off Da Nang are expected to experience showers and thunderstorms in some places, strong wind levels 6-7, light rough seas, sea waves as high as 2.5m high.
The waters off the Hoang Sa Archipelago are forecast to see strong northeasterly winds of level 6, gusts of levels 7-8, rough seas, and sea waves being 2-3.5m high.
During a thunderstorm, it is necessary to watch out for whirlwinds and strong gusts of wind.
The Da Nang Steering Committee for Disaster Mitigation, Search and Rescue and Civil Defence has requested the municipal Border Guard Command, the People's Committees of districts and the Da Nang Coastal Information Radio to promptly notify inform owners of vehicles and ships operating at sea about the northeast monsoon to proactively prevent it.
The municipal Border Guard Command shall proactively manage ships heading out to sea, keep communication with ships and vehicles operating at sea and inshore in order to promptly organize rescue when necessary.
