With voluntary and enthusiastic spirit of the youth, Youth Union (YU) organisations at all levels across Da Nang have carried out many practical youth projects. This has remarkably contributed to protecting the national sovereignty over its sea and islands, building new-style rural areas and civilised urban lifestyle, ensuring environmental sanitation and social welfare, and promoting the city’s progress.

In the last days of March, the YU organisation of Hoa Minh Ward, Lien Chieu District handed over the ‘Reading space’ model to the Vo Thi Sau Primary School.

According to Secretary of the Hoa Minh Ward's YU organisation Ho Nguyen Thi Thuy Linh, the YU organisation has appealed for VND20 million in cash donation from local YU members to deploy the ‘Reading space’ model at the Vo Thi Sau Primary School.

She added the purpose of the project was to develop a healthy reading habit amongst student, and give them an open and well-lit reading space.

“This project also aims to celebrate the 6th Congress of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union in Lien Chieu District for the 2022-2027 term and the 91st founding anniversary of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union (March 26, 1931 - 2022)” noted Secretary Linh.

Since early this year, the Lien Chieu District chapter of the municipal YU has launched many meaningful programmes and activities to support those in need in the locality, including models 'We always stay here with you, Mom', ‘Reading space’, ‘Volunteer Saturday’, and  ‘Each youth takes 10,000 steps per day’.

In addition, YU members in the district have been active in joining the 'Green, Clean, and Beautiful Sunday' campaign, and paying regular visits to heroic Vietnamese mothers.

Likewise, the YU organisation of Hoa Hai Ward, Ngu Hanh Son District, has just inaugurated the ‘Solar power system’ project at the Martyrs’ Cemetery in the ward.

Under the project, YU members in the ward have installed four 6m-high lighting poles with a capacity of 300W each at a total cost of VND15 million.

Secretary of the Hoa Hai Ward's YU organisation Nguyen Nho Hoai highlighted the meaningfulness of the installation of the solar power system in beautifying the landscapes of the Martyrs’ Cemetery, and paying tribute to heroes who gave their blood for the freedom of their fatherland.

Meanwhile, the YU organisation of An Hai Tay Ward, Son Tra District, has coordinated with the ward’s Veterans’ Association to carry out the youth project 'Tiep Suc Den Truong' (Giving Strength to Students) for poor local students.

Accordingly, the organisation donated 6 bicycles, each worth VND1.5 million, and 2 scholarships, each valued at VND500,000, to disadvantaged students.

Secretary of the Son Tra District chapter of the municipal YU Nguyen Thanh Tung said that his unit presented 500 national flags to fishermen in the wards of Tho Quang, Nai Hien Dong and Man Thai with the desire to encourage them to continue their fishing activities in order to both earn their living and safeguard the nation’s sacred sovereignty over its sea and islands.

In the first three months of the year, the Son Tra District chapter of the municipal YU implemented many meaningful activities such as ‘Son Tra youth are strong to build and defend the Fatherland’, ‘March of the Border’, ‘Discussion of books about Uncle Ho’, and ‘Promoting the wide publicity of drug prevention and control among YU members’.

In the coming time, the YU organisations at all levels in Son Tra District will continue to implement other meaningful programmes and activities in order to encourage more members to devote their youth to the cause of the construction, defense and development of the city.
