Da Nang strictly prevents illegal construction on Son Tra Peninsula
The Forest Protection Division under the Da Nang Department of Agriculture and Rural Development has reported on 68 cases of misusing the allocated forest land on the Son Tra Peninsula.
According to the report, the violators arbitrarily built houses and illegally did business on contracted land, going against the previous contract of land allocation for afforestation.
Up to now, the Son Tra District People's Committee has handled 5 cases. The remaining ones are being handled by forest protection agencies and relevant agencies. The violators have been demanded to dismantle unlicenced facilities.
The Forest Protection Division has requested the Son Tra - Ngu Hanh Son inter-district agencies to continue patrolling and inspecting around the Son Tra Peninsula area, even during the night time, so as to promptly detect and prevent acts of illegal encroachment into the forest and combat against forest fires, prevent illegal expansion or new construction,
Houses, temporary shops, camps and business facilities that have been illegally constructed on the peninsula will be dismantled.
In addition, heed will be paid to raise public awareness of forest and wildlife protection and participating in forest fire prevention and control.
Also, organisations, households, agencies and units operating in areas near forests and in forests shall sign written commitments to participate in forest and wildlife protection, absolutely not carrying out illegal constructions on the peninsula.
