Da Nang urgently searches for missing man after hanging out on river
Da Nang police and other functional forces are speeding up the search for a young man who went missing whilst hanging out with his friends on Bac (North) River, which flows through Hoa Bac Commune, Hoa Vang District.
As reported by the Chairman of the People's Committee of Hoa Bac Commune, Hoa Vang District Thai Van Hoai Nam, functional forces are still walking along the North and Cu De rivers to search for the 18-year-old man who was lost due to a large flood.
On the evening of May 1, a group of 11 young people, including the above-mentioned young man from Hoa Hai Ward, Ngu Hanh Son District, took a trip to Hoa Bac commune for relaxation along the North River.
Due to heavy rain, the river water suddenly rose in the dark night, washing away the young man.
Upon the reception of the S.O.S message from the witnesses, functional forces were present at the scene to organize the search for the victim. However, the high water level of the river was hindering he search and rescue.
"The police of Hoa Vang District has mobilized more rescue teams to search for the victim, but due to the high water and fast flow of the river, by the morning of May 3, the victim's trace has not been found. Currently, the functional forces are still patrolling along the river banks to search, racing against the time to look for the victim" said Mr. Thai Van Hoai Nam.
