After retiring, Mrs Mui has always sympathized with helping difficult situations, so she was trusted by everyone to be elected as the President of the Charity Association of residential area 15, Hai Chau 1 Ward, Hai Chau District.
Despite her small stature, she is very agile in all tasks such as preparing each gift bag during holidays and New Year's Day for difficult families. She tries to raise money to support scholarships for poor children so that they don't have to give up their academic dreams midway.
Moreover, thanks to being good at fundraising from benefactors, she has a good source of funds to support breeding cows to help people residing in remote areas of Da Nang and Quang Nam Province have means of livelihood.
Besides, she also mobilizes people to well implement the cultural and civilized urban lifestyle by cleaning up the streets.
After being selected to be the President of the Charity and Children's Rights Protection Association in Hai Chau 1 Ward, she established two Children's Rights Clubs to create a place for children to express their opinions and desires, worries and deadlocks to everyone. Thanks to that, many difficulties in the children's lives have been addressed in a timely manner.
In terms of mobilizing funding, Ms Mui always upholds the principle of transparency and openness in receiving and giving to prove that the heart of benefactors has come to the right address. Therefore, she can raise enough money to support any needy circumstance quickly.
In the past 5 years, the Hai Chau 1 Ward Children's Charity and Protection Association has raised over VND 5 billion. Thereby, more than 15,000 gifts worth over VND 2.5 billion have been supported for difficult circumstances and nearly 700 gifts worth more than 135 million VND have been handed over during unexpected support, and sick visits.
In addition, she has consulted with the local authorities to mobilize sponsors to open a restaurant called "A smile worth VND 2,000" in Hai Chau 1 Ward to support meals for poor workers and students. On top of that, she also organizes the sale of clean vegetables to raise funds to help the disadvantaged. Thanks to this fund, dozens of children from poor families and people suffering from serious illnesses have been helped.
Currently, the number of certificates of merit at the city, district, and ward levels awarded to her personally and to the Charity and Children's Protection Association of Hai Chau Ward 1 cannot be counted. However, her biggest reward is seeing the happy smiles of needy people when supported. From her point of view, that is the meaning of life
