Meaningful construction works give facelift to Da Nang

To mark the 47th anniversary of the Liberation of Da Nang (March 29, 1975 - 2022) and towards the 47th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and and National Reunification Day (April 30, 1975 - 2022), Da Nang has started the construction of many key projects and inaugurated many large-scale ones.

On March 22, work started on the Fusion Hotel Tower in Hoa Hai Ward, Ngu Hanh Son District at a total investment of US$50 million.

Co-invested by Lodgis Hospitality Holdings and VinaLiving under VinaCapital Group), the 18-storey hotel with 175 rooms (a total of 182 bedrooms) is part of the Fusion Resort & Villas Da Nang with a total area of 15.75ha.

Lodgis Hospitality Holdings CEO Peter Meyer said the project is one of the high-class resorts for tourists when coming to Da Nang to look for a relaxing space at one of the most beautiful beaches in Viet Nam. The construction of the work is guaranteed on schedule to be completed and put into operation soon.

One day later, the ITL Logistics Da Nang Company Limited held a groundbreaking ceremony for the Da Nang ITL Logistics Centre project at the expanded Hoa Khanh Industrial Park.

The VND200 billion project will provide ready-built factories for lease according to international standards, warehouse system, logistics services and shared infrastructure.

The centre is built according to Grade A quality standards with 7-storey rack, WMS warehouse management system capable of integrating according to customer requirements and an export gate with automatic lifting floor. Also, there are an automatic fire fighting system, a smart surveillance camera system, and a professional industrial lighting and electrical system.

The project is considered to play an important role in promoting the socio-economic development of the city in particular, and that of Central Viet Nam and the whole country in general.

Thanks to its competitive advantages, time saving, cost optimisation, responsibility, flexibility and risk reduction, the Da Nang ITL Logistics Centre is not only a necessary condition for industrial production but also an essential link to help reduce trade costs, increase stability for businesses, and contribute to promoting national and regional trade growth.

According to Head of the Authority of Da Nang Hi-Tech Park and Industrial Parks Pham Truong Son, the project is expected to contribute to the establishment and development of a nationwide smart logistics network to meet the need for logistics services from investors. Most specially, this will be a green logistics centre using solar energy for industrial production activities in Viet Nam.

On March 29, at the Song Han (Han River) Port, the People's Committees of Da Nang and Quang Ngai Province in collaboration with the Phu Quoc High Speed Boat JSC (Phu Quoc Express) officially launched an inland waterway tourism route connecting Da Nang with the Ly Son Island off the central province of Quang Ngai.

Addressing the opening ceremony, Da Nang People’s Committee Vice Chairman Tran Phuoc Son remarked that the launching of the Da Nang-Ly Son waterway tourism route was part of a series of activities to celebrate major holidays in Da Nang in this historic March. This was also a new tourism product, aiming to diversify tourism products in the city in a bid to lure tourists after two years of the interruption of tourism activities due to the impact of COVID-19.

Moreover, the Board of Directors of the Da Nang Rubber Joint Stock Company (DRC) has spent more than VND900 billion expanding its truck tire factory. Once completed, the radial truck tire factory will increase its capacity from 600,000 tires/year to 1 million tires/year.

Architectural and urban highlights

On January 10, the expanded APEC Sculpture Park was officially inaugurated in Da Nang.

Located in Binh Hien Ward, Hai Chau District, Da Nang, the over VND759 billion, 8,668m2 expanded area comprises one basement, two semi-floating floors, and especially, a kite-shaped dome named ‘Da Nang - High Flying Kite’.

The first floor comprises a rest space, a souvenir sales service area, a tourism information area for visitors and a public toilet. The second floor is designed with community space, trees, fountains and walkways. The basement consists of public parking areas and technical rooms.

The park connects with a route dedicated for pedestrians and bicycle riders stretching along the Bach Dang Street- Nguyen Van Troi Bridge-Tran Hung Dao Street.

One of the works completed and put into use from the beginning of 2022 is the upgrade work on a section of Ngo Quyen - Ngu Hanh Son route between its intersections with Nguyen Phan Vinh and Bui Quoc Hung streets at a total cost of VND 78.97 billion.

The work helps ensure the smooth traffic flows and reduce traffic accidents related to tractors and trucks entering and leaving the city's Tien Sa Port.

The purposed of the project is to reduce the current traffic congestion at intersections nearby during peak hours, in a tandem with alleviating the huge volume of traffic on main trunk roads leading to the Da Nang International Airport such as Nguyen Van Linh and Xo Viet Nghe Tinh. Also, it creates an architectural and landscape highlight in the city.

This is a work not only meaningful in terms of traffic, creating a highlight of the urban space landscape but also having important political and social significance. Together with the expansion project of the APEC Statue Park, which was just inaugurated in early 2022 and the recently completed works that are about to be put into use, this work marks the return of economic and cultural development activities. culture and society in the city.
