Missing student's body found after drowning in Nam O Beach

At dawn on Saturday, Da Nang functional forces discovered the body of the 14-year-old schoolboy who had previously gone missing whilst swimming in the Nam O Beach.

The victim was one of the 5 local secondary school student who together went to the Nam O Beach, near the Nam O temple for swimming on Thursday afternoon. All of the five schoolboys faced an unexpected accident whilst swimming.

At that time, Mr. Phan Thanh Phu, 26, a resident in Hoa Hiep Nam Ward, upon having heard non-stop shouting from witnesses, rushed into the sea to save the boys. Only 3 students swam to the shore by themselves, another one was pulled ashore by Mr. Phu, and the remaining one was swept away by water.

Upon the reception of the S.O.S message, rescuers from the Fire Prevention and Rescue Police Team of Lien Chieu District Police were present at the scene to organise the search for the victim.

*Around 7:55 a.m. on Saturday, people discovered a body of a man floating on a section of the Han River near Tuyen Son Bridge, Hai Chau District. The victim is about 60 years old, about 1.55m tall.
