The 12^th Sports Festival for Da Nang Labour Officers 2022 kicked off on Saturday.

Hosted by the Da Nang Confederation of Labour, the event attracts the participation of 800 athletes from 16 trade union organisations across the city. They compete in 5 sports events: badminton, table tennis, men's tug of war, women's tug of war, and mixed-gender bag jumping relay race.

The sports festival takes place on May 7, 8, 14 and 15. The closing ceremony will be held at the multi-purpose gymnasium of the city's Labour Culture House on May 15.

Chairman of the municipal Confederation of Labour Nguyen Duy Minh said the sports festival provided an opportunity for all local labour officers to improve their health. Also, it is a useful playground for trade union members and employees to exchange and strengthen solidarity and friendship.

The sports festival is part of a series of activities in response to the Workers’ Month 2022.
