During her a meeting with Ms. Lesley Miller, Deputy Representative of the United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF) in Viet Nam, Da Nang People's Committee Vice Chairwoman Ngo Thi Kim Yen highly appreciated UNICEF's efforts for child care, education and protection in the city over recent years, especially supporting Da Nang to participate in the Child-Friendly Cities Initiative.

Vice Chairwoman Yen said that the city always pays attention to and takes many solutions to improve the care and educational services for children.

The city has issued the Action Programme for Children for the 2021 - 2030 period with a series of goals and activities.

In the coming time, the city recommends UNICEF to continue to support Da Nang to achieve a number of goals such as ensuring that all children receive the best care in terms of health and nutrition and that all of them are protected, prevented from abuse and violence and have access to quality education and have recreational and entertainment conditions.

Ms. Lesley Miller expressed her impression of the city's achievements in supportive care and protection activities for women and children, affirming that UNICEF Viet Nam will continue to support the central Vietnamese city to implement its own cooperation plans between UNICEF and the city.

In particular, focus will be on a number of main goals such as formulating policies and priorities for children, building social assistance models associated with health and education programmes, strengthening the child protection system, promoting digital transformation for disadvantaged and disabled students and children and ensuring health, nutrition and hygiene for teenagers and students.
