VND4.45 billion goes to support disadvantaged workers

The Da Nang Confederation of Labour held a ceremony on Friday evening to launch the Workers' Month 2022 and the Workers' Fair 2022.

Vice Chairwoman of the municipal People's Committee Ngo Thi Kim Yen made her attendance at the event.

During the ceremony, the city's Confederation of Labour presented 44 charity houses totalling at VND1.45 billion, to trade union members and workers facing housing difficulties.

Also, 30,000 vouchers, worth VND3 billion in total, at worker's markets, were donated to those in extremely difficult circumstances and being affected by COVID-19.

On this occasion, Chairman of the municipal Confederation of Labor Nguyen Duy Minh awarded the emulation flags of the Viet Nam General Confederation of Labour to five collectives in recognition of their outstanding achievements in building a strong trade union organisation in 2021.

The 2022 Workers' Fair is taking place from May 6 - 8 at the city’s Labour Culture House. It features 41 stalls with a wide range of clothing, food, household items, and electronic equipment which are being offered at 5% - 50% discount for trade union members and poor workers.

In addition, there are numerous attractive programmes, such as lucky spin programme, free oil change and motorbike maintenance, and free medical checkups and medicine.

Moreover, the similar fairs will be held at the Lien Chieu District-based Hoa Khanh Industrial Park from May 13 - 15 and at the Son Tra District-based Da Nang Industrial Park from May 20 - 22.
