The Da Nang People's Committee has just issued a dispatch on keeping children safe from potential accidents, injuries and drowning.

At the request of the municipal administration, relevant local agencies shall task themselves with raising public awareness of protecting children from accidents, injuries and drowning, guiding the promotion of physical training, sports, amusement, entertainment, cultural and artistic activities for children in the summer, and handling locations which are prone to accidents and drowning.

The municipal Department of Education and Training must guide the dissemination of knowledge and skills on how to avoid accidents, injuries and drowning to each student.

Also it is a need to introduce them to basic and safe swimming skills, thereby limiting the risk of drowning, and improving their health to meet the physical requirements for learning and living activities.

The competent authorities will beef up their joint coordination in closely managing children during the summer vacation and in the face of potential storm, flood or natural disasters, promptly warning them against locations and areas at risk of accidents, injuries and drowning and implementing preventive and remedial measures as well.
