The ongoing Phase 1 is attracting 26 disadvantaged children. During the course, the trainees are equipped with basic swimming techniques such as backstroke and breaststroke, as well as necessary skills to prevent themselved from drowning accidents and giving first aid to victims.
The course aims to ensure that 100% of the participating children will know how to swim, thus contributing to mobilising the whole population to actively practice swimming, especially children, so as to prevent drowning, and at the same time, creating a useful and healthy playground to improve the health, fitness and stature of the young generation.
After Phase 1, the centre will organise more classes in the summer targeting a total of 65 disadvantaged children in the district.
