The Vietnamese Ministry of Transport has requested the Inspector of the Ministry of Transport, the Directorate for Roads of Viet Nam, the general departments of Viet Nam Maritime, Viet Nam Register, Inland Waterway, Vietnam Railways and the municipal/provincial Department of Transport immediately implement a plan to check and control vehicle loads nationwide.

Accordingly, the Department of Transport shall maintain the operation of the existing mobile weighbridge stations to make timely repairs if any.

The Directorate for Roads will collaborate with the Viet Nam Register to set up working groups to record images of vehicles showing signs of violation in the size of the trunk as well as handle violating vehicles or make warnings on the national registration system.

The Department of Transport will partner with other relevant units to strengthen the control of vehicle loads and vehicle dimensions on national highways and local roads under their management, and at the same time, beef up the inspection of transport and cargo handling enterprises, and strictly handle those violating regulations on vehicle loads.

In recent times, the travelling of overloaded dumper trucks carrying soil, stones, sand, and other construction materials was bad for the environment, and this could result in possible tragic traffic accidents. Hence, these issues have sparked deep concern amongst the general public.

Also, in order to ensure the traffic safety, these businesses are asked to make suitable adjustments to their truck schedules, their vehicles must carry loads within their limits, and they should not exceed the speed limits.
