Da Nang donates 25 gratitude houses to Hai Phong's social policy families
A group of Da Nang’s leaders, led by municipal Party Committee Secretary Nguyen Van Quang, on Saturday, met and had a working session with their counterparts of Hai Phong City on the occasion of the 75th anniversary of War Invalids and Martyrs' Day (July 27).

Speaking at the meeting, Secretary Nguyen Van Quang expressed his deep gratitude to wounded soldiers, heroic Vietnamese mothers, families of martyrs, and social policy families in Hai Phong City who had sacrificed their blood and bone for the cause of national liberation and reunification, especially ones who had fought and died heroically on Zone 5’ battlefields, including former Quang Nam - Da Nang Province, during the anti-US resistance war.
The city leader also took the opportunity to thank the Party, government and people of Hai Phong for their special support for Da Nang during the anti-American resistance war, as well as the period of Da Nang facing many difficulties due to complicated developments of COVID-19.
He hoped that, in the coming time, both the cities would continue to maintain the solidarity and cooperation relationships in many spheres, especially in gratitude work towards revolution contributors.

In reply, Deputy Secretary of the Hai Phong Party Committee Do Manh Hien remarked that his city has performed well the tasks of taking care of the lives of people with meritorious services. He highly appreciated the loyal relationship between Hai Phong and Da Nang, affirming to make every effort to strengthen the bilateral cooperation ties in various aspects in the coming time.
To mark the occasion, Da Nang presented 25 gratitude houses and 50 savings books totalling VND2.5 billion to social policy families and people with meritorious services in Hai Phong.
Also on the same day, the Da Nang delegation laid wreaths and offered incense to commemorate heroes and martyrs at the Hai Phong Martyrs’ Monument.
The Da Nang guests visited and presented gifts to the heroic Vietnamese mother Ngo Thi Tam, 100, residing in Trai Chuoi Ward, Hong Bang District, as well as donated VND60 million in cash to support the construction of a house of gratitude for Mr. Nguyen Van Thong, 68, living in Lap Le Commune, Thuy Nguyen District who was exposed to toxic chemicals sprayed by the US during the war.
During his visits to the families, Secretary Quang wished them good health and happy lives, as well as encouraged them to continue to be a shining example for the younger generations to study and follow.
