Ensuring traffic safety for pedestrians along seaside routes
During the ongoing tourism peak season, the traffic order and safety situation along seaside routes, especially a section of road between Vo Nguyen Giap and Hoang Sa streets, tend to be complicated. The main reason is thought to be that there has been a significant increase in the number of vehicles travelling on the routes, making it difficult for tourists to travel.

Mr. Khuong Dai Tai, a tourist from Soc Trang Province, said that this was the first time he has visited Da Nang. He added the means of transport were constantly crowded together and some roads did not have footpaths. It took him 30 minutes to cross the street.
Sharing the same point with Mr. Tai, Mrs. Luu Thi Lieu, hailing from Dak Lak Province pointed out the situation of exceeding the speed limits and swerving along some seaside routes. The reason was partly attributed to the parking, and the passenger pick-up and drop-off of tourist coaches, taxis and 4-wheeled electric vehicles, at hotels along the coastal routes.
Mrs. Lieu suggested the authorities install more traffic signal devices and traffic speed monitoring cameras for sake of making it easier for tourists to cross the road to access the sea.
Deputy Director in charge of the municipal Department of Transport Bui Hong Trung said that during the ongoing tourism peak season, Da Nang has been welcoming a large number of visitors from both home and abroad. Heavy traffic and traffic jams have been recently reported along a section of road from Vo Nguyen Giap Street to the An Thuong Tourist Streets complex. Also, many vehicles are observed parking at the wrong places, poising a risk for traffic accidents and local congestion.
Deputy Director Trung remarked, in the coming time, the city's functional bodies would increase patrols to control and strictly handle cases of traffic safety violations.
The focus will be on installing traffic signs and warning systems, as well as speeding up the construction of surveillance camera systems and speed warning signs.
Deputy Director of the Management Board of the Son Tra Peninsula and Da Nang Tourism Beaches Tran Dai Nghia said his unit was always ready to coordinate with functional forces to keep order and safety at the beaches, especially giving active support for tourists if they need help.”
