A get-together was held in Da Nang on Friday to celebrate the 55^th birthday of the 44 Quang Da Front (July 1).

In attendance at the event were nearly 300 people representing more than 5,000 war veterans of the 44 Quang Da Front living in all parts of the country.

During the event, the participants together reviewed the years of fighting during the anti-US resistance war, along with heroic and arduous memories, and many victories and miracles in the former Quang Da battlefield during the 1967-1975 period.

They also encouraged each other to promote the quality of Uncle Ho’s soldiers in everyday life, and strived to overcome difficulties to actively participate in the construction of their hometown, and educate the younger generation about patriotism and revolutionary heroism.

Between 2017 and 2022, the Traditional Liaison Committee of the 44 Quang Da Front coordinated with the member liaison boards to raise funds to build 48 ‘teammates' houses’ and repair 71 downgraded ones for their members.

Also, the donated money went to construct 12 memorial steles for martyrs, and find and rebury 227 martyrs' remains in martyrs’ cemeteries citywide.

In the coming time, the Traditional Liaison Committee of the 44 Quang Da Front will organise activities highlighting the tradition ‘when drinking water, remember its source’ and educate the young generation about revolutionary traditions.
