VND25.3 billion spent for humanitarian activities in Da Nang
In the first half of 2022, the Da Nang Association of Charities and Children's Rights Protection and its chapters at all levels together raised VND 25.3 billion in total from generous philanthropists from both home and overseas for their humanitarian activities, reaching 83% of its year plan. Of this, more than VND900 million went to help suburban Hoa Vang District build new-style rural areas.
For the remaining 6 months of the year, the Association and its chapters at grassroots level will focus on strengthening public awareness of drowning and child abuse prevention, stepping up counseling and supervision work on the protection of children's rights, and urging the progress of handling violations of children's rights, and raising funds from philanthropists to support poor children.
Also, importance will be attached to launching the ‘Helping poor households overcome difficulties and joining hands to protect children's rights’ emulation movement, and improving the quality and effectiveness of regular charity programmes.
