Although his work is quite busy, Dr Phan Duc Tri, Secretary of the Da Nang Hospital Union, and his colleagues regularly travel to remote areas in Da Nang and Quang Ninh province to provide medical examinations and medicine to the poor. Most recently, in June 2022, he and dozens of doctors and nurses participated in the journey "Youth with the Fatherland's Sea and Islands 2022" in Ly Son island district, which was organized by the Union of central agencies.

Doctors have examined, consulted and given free medicines to over 500 people in Ly Son island district. At the same time, the Organizing Committee also gave 50 gifts to poor households, 3 water filtration systems, sports equipment, fans, and bicycles to An Vinh 1 Primary School and Military Command of Ly Son island district and donated 500 national flags to fishermen on Ly Son island with a total value of  VND 150 million.

Recently, his unit has collaborated with Duy Tan University and the University of Economics – the University of Danang to organize medical examinations and treatment for 300 people in Quang Nam province in the program "Green summer", to pay visits and organize medical examinations,  medicine distribution, gift giving to 4 heroic Vietnamese mothers in the city and present 60 gifts at the Center for nurturing people with revolutionary merits on the occasion of Invalids and Martyrs' Day.

In addition, Da Nang Hospital has also cooperated with the Department of Culture and Sports to organize a post-Covid-19 examination program for officials and youth union members of 2 units, as well as organize the handover 2 children's bookcases for patients at the Department of Oncology and Pediatrics of Da Nang Hospital with a budget of VND 50 million.

With his greatest effort, Dr Phan Duc Tri has mobilized various units to support medicines, and borrowed ultrasound machines, and electrocardiograms to serve charity activities. Moreover, every Tet holiday, his unit has also organized the program "Meaningful buses" to support patients returning to their hometowns.

Also, the unit has coordinated with other benefactors to give hundreds of Tet gifts and bus tickets to patients suffering from serious diseases or difficult circumstances, and patients from near-poor households in Da Nang and neighbouring provinces.

On top of that, Dr Phan Duc Tri is an active volunteer who usually donates blood and mobilizes his colleagues to do this meaningful activity to help many lives be revived. In particular, during the complicated period of COVID-19, he mobilized the youth union members in the unit to participate with nearly 300 units of blood in just one week. He also volunteered to take care of and treat patients with COVID-19 at the field hospital at the dormitory in the west of the city, as well as support the hospital in pandemic prevention and control.

As shared by Dr Tri, not only has he given away what he had during volunteer trips, but he and his colleagues also learned a lot from them. Typically, no matter how poor or difficult the circumstances, people have still tried their utmost to live and believe in positive life. Dr Tri wishes that the spirit of philanthropy for the community will be spread so that more and more difficult circumstances in society can be supported.
