Nutritious meals for children in mountainous areas

The Da Nang People’s Council has issued resolution on regulations and policies for teachers and pupils at public educational institutions in Hoa Phu and Hoa Bac communes in Hoa Vang District, thereby contributing to creating favourable conditions for teaching and learning activities there.

As observed in mid-September, lunch meals for pupils at the Hoa Bac Preschool were full of meat, fish and vegetables.

Meanwhile, lunch meals for Hoa Bac Primary School pupils consisted of rice, stir-fried beef and tomato soup with minced meat.

Ngoc Chau, a third grader, said happily the meal was delicious and had many dishes. I like school meals very much.

Mr. Le Van Hoang, Head of the Education and Training Office of Hoa Vang District highlighted the significance of the city’s very humane policy in not only facilitating pupils in two communes Hoa Phu and Hoa Bac to study, live and improve their physical fitness, but also helping disadvantaged families in the locality to reduce their economic burden.

Previously, on December 19, 2018, the municipal People’s Council issued Resolution No. 202/2018/NQ-HDND on regulations on policies for teachers and pupils at public educational institutions in the city, including financial support for semi-boarding school pupils in Hoa Bac and Hoa Phu communes.

Specifically, primary school pupils who are ethnic minorities or from poor families are supported with VND560,000/pupil/month, those who are living near the city's poverty threshold and social policy families with VND400,000 each, and others with VND300,000 each. The benefit period is 9 months per a school year.

Meanwhile, preschoolers who are ethnic minorities are supported with VND560,000/pupil/month.

In addition to the support level of 10% of the base salary as prescribed in Decree 06/2018/ND-CP of the Government, preschoolers who are living below and near the city’s poverty threshold receive the financial support equal the support level for primary school pupils living below and near the city’s poverty threshold.

Preschoolers who are children of social policy families will receive a monthly allowance of VND400,000 each, and others VND300,000 each.

The benefit period is 9 months per a school year.
