The Han Traditional Market in Da Nang is to benefit from a more than VND 8 billion upgrade scheme as many items in this venue have been downgraded after the market has operated in the city for more than 30 years.

The works got underway on September 6 and are expected to take 3 months to complete.

The funding from the Da Nang Wet Markets Development and Management Company will see the physical transformation of ageing main and auxiliary areas, electric system, seafood selling area, welcome gate, water supply and drainage system in addition to the building of new office for the Han Market Management Board.

In the future, the Han market will become a tourist attraction that features a combination of traditional and modern markets while ensuring products for sale are made in a safe and hygienic environment, as well as requirements for fire and explosion prevention and protection in the wet market are met.

On Tuesday afternoon, the area for seafood stalls and the Han Market Management Board's Office were demolished. In addition, areas for fruit and vegetable stalls and an area behind the market will be embellished in rolling schedule.
