The ‘Chuyen Xe Van Tinh 0 Dong’ (Zero-dong Love Bus) charity club under the Da Nang Red Cross Society recently coordinated with many units to donate 1,000 gifts, totaling nearly VND 500 million, to flood-affected families in Lien Chieu District on Sunday.

Accordingly, 700 gifts were given to households in Hoa Khanh Nam Ward, whilst the remaining 300 went to support families in Hoa Minh Ward. Each gift, valued at VND 400,000, included necessities and daily-life tools such as rice, seasonings, cups, and pots.

As one of the members joining rescue operations on the rainy night of October 14, Mr. Ho Ngoc Thanh, Chairman of the Club, witnessed Da Nang people's property and belongings being swept away by the floodwaters. Therefore, he decided to call for sponsors to donate household tools, and essentials, to flood-affected residents in a bid to help them soon stabilise their lives.

In addition, the organisers of the ‘Da Nang people love each other’ programme gave uniforms and notebooks to 215 pupils of the Hong Quang Primary School based in Hoa Khanh Nam Ward who were severely affected by the flooding.

Within the framework of the programme, Chairwoman of the municipal Red Cross Society Le Thi Nhu Hong, Lieutenant Colonel Nguyen Thi Ngoc Tuyet, Chairwoman of the Women's Union organisation of the Hai Chau District’s Police Division, and Lieutenant Colonel Phan Quang Phap, Deputy Station of Hoa Hai Gate Traffic Police Station, visited and presented gifts directly to households suffering flooding-caused heavy damage in Khanh Son 2 residential area.
