Da Nang makes concerted efforts to overcome heavy rain consequences

Da Nang People's Committee Vice Chairman Tran Phuoc Son, on Saturday afternoon, paid his inspection visits to some flooded residential areas in some alleys on Thai Thi Boi Street in Chinh Gian Ward, Thanh Khe District, and others in Lien Chieu and Ngu Hanh Son districts.

During his visits to the aforementioned areas, Vice Chairman Son directed authorities at local level and relevant units to focus on overcoming the consequences of heavy rain.

He urged the municipal Department of Natural Resources and Environment, and authorities at local level to continue to mobilise human resources and specialised vehicles for garbage collection and street cleanup operations to ensure the environmental sanitation.

He also asked district-level health centres to spray disinfectant to avoid disease outbreaks after heavy rain.

The municipal Department of Natural Resources and Environment has requested the Da Nang Urban Environment JSC and the Central Viet Nam branch of the Ha Noi Urban Environment Limited Company (URENCO) to implement garbage collection along streets right from the morning of October 15. Especially, the units focus on collecting garbage at the markets, and helping small traders restore their trading activities soon in order to stabilise people's lives.

Authorities at all levels continue to call on local residents to participate in the cleanup operations in their residential areas. Associations and unions appeal for their members to join efforts to clean up the environment on roads and in residential areas.
