The Da Nang People's Committee has provided funding worth nearly VND60 billion for widening residential roads from 3.75m to 5.5m in the districts of Son Tra, Lien Chieu, Ngu Hanh Son and Hai Chau.

Residential roads are being fenced to avoid incidents for people

The city’s road widening project aims to create favourable conditions for people to travel and improve the infrastructure of residential areas.

Ms. Nguyen Thi Bich Nga, residing on Huynh Ly Street, Thuan Phuoc Ward, Hai Chau District, remarked she was extremely excited when the municipal government implemented the road improvement project.

Currently, there are more than 150 roads with a width of 3.5m and 3.75m built more than 20 years ago in the districts of Lien Chieu, Hai Chau, Son Tra and Ngu Hanh Son. After more than 2 decades, these roads revealed many limitations, causing some travel problems for local residents.

Therefore, the policy of expanding roads in residential areas with the width of the roadbed from 3.5m-3.75m to 5.5m is a timely and appropriate way. The objective of the project is to create favourable conditions for people's travel, improve the local infrastructure and enhance the life of residents living on both sides of roads in line with the city’s socio-economic situation.
