This school year, a host of students in remote areas of Quang Nam Province have new books and clothes. The road to school has become less dangerous thanks to the newly built bridges, and many concreted roads. This is the result of the great contributions of young people from the member schools of the University of Da Nang (UD)

This year’s meaningful autumn, the Vietnamese - Korean Hand In Hand group of  Vietnam - Korea University of Information and Communication Technology (VKU) of the UD has travelled a long distance to support pupils in Tu Nuong Hamlet, Tra Tap Commune, Nam Tra My District, Quang Nam Province. During this trip, 79 members of the group focused on improving the learning environment and landscape for the kindergarten and primary school there, equipping classes with new learning equipment, developmental toys, comics and books to help them have more learning conditions in the new school year.

As shared by Ms Hoang Vu Da Quynh, leader of the group, they chose Tu Nuong to support pupils for this school year since the circumstances here still have hundreds of difficulties. The distance from home to the school for the children here is approximately 2 hours on foot. Moreover, roads to school become more dangerous during the rainy season. Therefore, the children will have to miss school for a few days, sometimes lasting up to half a month at such times. This is also the reason for the group to make a suspension bridge for local people here.

In the same vein, in the last "Green Summer" Campaign, students of the Union of Chemistry Department, University of Science and Technology – the UD levelled more than 200m2 of steep hills to make flat roads for people in Ta Lu Commune, Dong Giang district, Quang Nam Province, making it easier to travel and exchange goods, especially in the coming stormy season. According to Mr Nguyen Huu Thin, Deputy Secretary of the Youth Union of the Chemistry Department, Deputy Head of the Volunteer Campaign Steering Committee of "Summer Footprints", Ta Lu Commune, a remote and mountainous area, has still faced a bunch of difficulties, with few benefactors’ visits so the group was determined to come here and accompany local people to improve their lives.

Similarly, during days supporting people in Long Tuc Village, Tra Nam Commune, Nam Tra My District, Quang Nam Province, although the transportation of materials encountered countless disadvantages, volunteers of the Hand In Hand group of the University of Science and Education- the UD  has levelled 450m2 of steep hills and concreted 150m2 of land area to build a colourful playground for the children here. They also installed swings, seesaws, public chairs and decorated the playground with hundreds of colourful pinwheels.

The volunteering campaigns of students in member universities of the UD  during the summer of 2022 with the theme "The youth of the University of Danang is creative, volunteering for the community" took place in July and August with the participation of nearly 1,000 volunteers of 8 Youth Union units. They had come to Dak To Lung Commune (Kon Ray District, Kon Tum Province); Son Mau Commune (Son Tay District, Quang Ngai Province); Tien Ha Commune (Tien Phuoc District), Duy Phuoc and Duy Vinh communes (Duy Xuyen District), Hiep Hoa Commune (Hiep Duc District) of Quang Nam Province; two communes of Hoa Bac, Hoa Nhon in Hoa Vang District and Da Nang University Urban Area to contribute their enthusiasm of youth to perform many meaningful works for the community
