Currently, in Lien Chieu District, many traffic routes are still inundated, causing traffic congestion with many cars running slowly bumper to bumper. Highway 1A is still congested to the south of Hai Van road tunnels, which causes many cars to get stuck in Lang Co Town, Phu Loc District, neighbouring Thua Thien Hue Province.

Along the routes leading to the Son Tra Peninsula, there are a number of cars with broken engines and some points of landslides. Some tourists have been guided by functional forces to take shelter at Linh Ung Pagoda - Son Tra. Soil, rocks and mud on the Son Tra peninsula have also spilled onto Le Van Luong Street, causing traffic difficulties.

In Son Tra District, many basements of hotels and houses are inundated. Currently, the basements of 2 apartment buildings 12T1 and 12T2 are still flooded because there is no pump and both buildings have no electricity because the electrical cabinets are located in the basement.

Most of Son Tra District, part of Hai Chau District, part of the  Hoa Khanh Industrial Park, Phuoc Ly urban area, some areas of Thanh Khe District and the communes of Hoa Lien, Hoa Bac, Hoa Ninh, Hoa Nhon in Hoa Vang District is still facing power cut.

The municipal Commanding Committee for Natural Disaster Prevention, Search and Rescue and Civil Defense urged units to focus on overcoming damage in the city caused by storm No. 5 and heavy rain, mobilise households, individuals and organisations to participate in cleanups of the environment after storms and floods, actively visit the families of the victims, support families in need, and especially not to let people lack food.

Greater efforts should be exerted to return all activities to normal. The municipal Department of Construction’s units are focusing on fixing the domestic water supply and  public lighting systems throughout the city and ensuring the operation of drainage systems and taking anti-flooding measures.

In a prompt fashion, the Department of Industry and Trade is working with Da Nang Electricity One Member Limited Liability Company to troubleshoot the damaged power system, especially at prioritising important areas, stabilize market prices, ensuring no case of hoarding goods due to natural disasters.

Likewise, the Department of Transport shall assume the prime responsibility for remedying landslide damage in traffic routes according to management decentralization, ensuring smooth traffic.
