According to the Mid-central Region Centre for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, the parts from Quang Binh to Da Nang, are expected to receive moderate rainfall, and heavy rainfall and thunderstorms at isolated places. Moderate to heavy rain with localised extremely heavy falls and thunderstorm chance is likely in Quang Nam and Quang Ngai provinces today.

The total rainfall amount will be 20mm-50mm in common in Quang Binh and Quang Tri provinces while over 70mm of rain could dump at isolated places.

Thua Thien- Hue Province could receive between 30mm and 60mm of rain, and even more than 100mm possible at some places. As much as 50mm-100mm of rain could fall in Quang Nam and Quang Ngai provinces, and even more than 150mm in some places.

In Da Nang, the total rainfall amount will be 30mm-60mm in common in Hoa Vang, Cam Le, Son Tra and Ngu Hanh Son districts while over 100mm of rain could dump at isolated places. In addition, Lien Chieu, Thanh Khe and Hai Chau districts could receive between 20mm-50mm, and even more than 80mm possible at some places.

Rain activity is expected to declince gradually in the parts from Quang Binh to Quang Ngai, including Da Nang, from Wednesday night onwards but moderate rainfall is likely to continue in these areas.

Regional forecasters have also issued warnings of flash floods and landslides for mountainous areas in the parts from Quang Binh to Quang Ngai, including Da Nang. as widespread and prolonged torrential rains are battering these areas.
