Over VND1 billion goes to support Da Nang residents affected by flooding

On Tuesday, the Da Nang Red Cross Society presented 523 gifts, totalling VND350 million, to local people who were severely affected by recent flooding in the locality.

Specifically, necessities, boxes of household goods, and VND30 million in cash went to support 23 families affected by the collapse of the Ho Du reservoir in Thach Nham Dong Village, Hoa Nhon Commune, Hoa Vang District.

Additionally, 200 gifts, each worth VND700,000, were donated to 200 flood-stricken households in Hoa Nhon and Hoa Khuong communes, Hoa Vang District, and Hoa Khanh Nam and Hoa Minh wards, Lien Chieu District.

Besides, 300 boxes of household goods were given to 300 needy families across the city.

Previously, on October 17, the municipal Red Cross Association also coordinated with the Prudential Vietnam Life Insurance Company to donate 240 gifts, valued at VND125 million in total, to households directly impacted by flood water levels in Lien Chieu and Hoa Vang districts.

On October 23 and 25, the city’s Red Cross Society will continue to give 1,500 gifts, totalling VND550 million, to flood-affected residents in districts of Lien Chieu, Cam Le, Thanh Khe, Hai Chau, Son Tra and Ngu Hanh Son.
