The Trade Union organisation of Da Nang’s education sector in collaboration with the municipal Department of Education and Training, organised a ceremony to honour teachers who are outstanding trade union officers, and the arts contest entitled ‘Songs of the sowers’ on Saturday evening.

The event aimed to celebrate the 40^th anniversary of Vietnamese Teachers' Day (November 20) and to welcome the Congress of Trade Union organisations at all levels for the 2023-2028 term.

During the event, 40 teachers who are outstanding trade union officials were honoured for their outstanding contributions to trade union activities.

On the occasion, the municipal Confederation of Labour awarded 200 gifts, each worth VND1 million, to poor teachers and members of the local education sector’s Trade Union organisation.

Meanwhile, the arts contest attracted the participation of 6 district-level Education and Training departments, and 34 teams that are schools, centers and units under the city’s Trade Union organisation of the education sector. It featured 54 performances with the involvement of more than 1,000 trade union members, teachers, workers and students.

In the end, the Hai Chau District Department of Education and Training and the Phan Chau Trinh Senior High School’s Trade Union organisation won the first prizes in the categories of district-level Departments of Education and Training and grassroots trade union organisations respectively.
