Da Nang asks for VND1,200 billion from national government's budget for anti-flooding, landslide projects
As reported, recent storm, followed by floods that hit Da Nang caused an estimated economic loss of about VND1,500 billion. In order to overcome the damage caused by the natural disasters and prevent potential ones in the coming time, the Da Nang People's Committee has proposed the national government to provide immediate financial support for 3 anti-flooding, landslide projects in Da Nang with a total estimated amount of VND1,180 billion.

The projects are the solidification of Hoang Sa Road and paths on the Son Tra Peninsula at a cost of about VND500 billion, an anti-flooding system at the Da Nang Airport with 4 regulation lakes and technical infrastructure at a total sum of about VND500 billion, the reinforcement of the embankment system along the nearly 2,000m-long Hoang Sa - Vo Nguyen Giap - Truong Sa coastal route with an investment capital of about VND180 billion.
The Da Nang administration also proposed the Vietnamese Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development to provide it with 150 tonnes of rice seeds and 3 tonnes of vegetable seeds of all kinds suitable to the soil conditions of the central region so as to promptly support residents to restore production after the aforementioned harsh weather incidents.
