Over recent years, the Da Nang Association for the Protection of Poor and Disadvantaged Women and Children has made great efforts to provide practical support for those in need, thereby facilitating timely assistance to right persons.

Timely support for poor women and children
Mrs Tran Thi Loc, the Chairwoman of the Hoa Vang District Chapter of the Da Nang Association for the Protection of Poor and Disadvantaged Women and Children, said that many local residents are living a difficult life as Hoa Vang Rural District mainly focusses on agriculture.
“Providing financial support for poor women and children to help them access medical treatment for their life-threatening diseases has a profound impact on them as it is a very necessary for salvation for the poor and those facing particularly tough times, along with policy beneficiary families to help them regain control of their lives and experience relief from symptoms. The Association has exerted every effort to give these people the encouragement, motivation, and support to help them overcome difficulties, conquer their diseases, contributing to ensure effective implementation of the city’s social welfare policies, "said Mrs Loc.

Meaningful support highlighting the best of humanity
Mr. Huynh Van Hoa, the Chairman of the Da Nang Association for the Protection of Poor and Disadvantaged Women and Children, said that practical support has been provided for the two target groups in line with the principle and purpose of the Association over the past two decades. The focus has been on helping children with congenital heart disease access operations, as well as faciliating women’s access to cancer screenings with many programs implememted in certain period of time.
Overall value of the Association’s financial assistance to thousands of disadvantaged women and children across the city has been more than VND 34.8 billion during the 20-year period in order to help them overcome difficulties, have a better life, and facilitate their integration into the community as soon as possible.
The Association has actively get involved in calling for cash donations from domestic and foreign individuals and organsations to provide timely support for many unfortunate women and children after seeing their tears of misery.
In the coming time, the Association will continue its efforts to join forces with local relevant agencies and social organisations to help poor and near-poor households along with “newly escaped from poverty” households in the city improve the material and spiritual lives of these families in line with the direction from the Da Nang government. Special attention will be paid to continuing to raise funds for the Association's targeted and humanitarian programs, including screening for congenital heart disease in children, cancer screenings for poor women, financial aid for the Village of Hope - a shelter for orphans and disadvantaged children, and financial support for charity kitchens.
