Da Nang continues promoting charity activities and protecting children's rights

In 2022, the Da Nang Association of Charities and Children's Rights Protection and its chapters citywide exerted every effort to raise a combined total of more than VND54 billion from generous philanthropists for charitable activities.

Over the past year, the Association carried out many meaningful programmes to help the needy, including ‘Shelters of Human Love’, and ‘Porridge of Love’.

Additionally, the Association supported disadvantaged people to build 6 new houses and repair 22 downgraded ones at a total cost of over VND575 million, as well as secured good care of 22 lonely elderly people.

Over VND5.7 billion was used to implement the ‘Porridge of Love’, whilst more than VND513 million went to provide means of livelihood to 84 poor households.

The information was released by the Association at its Friday meeting to review its performance over the past year and launch emulation movements in 2023.

In 2023, the Association will continue to implement the ‘Helping poor families overcome difficulties, and protect children's rights’ emulation movement, and Party and State guidelines and policies.

Importance will be attached to organizing a fundraising event themed ‘Warmth of Human Love’ to help families with children in very difficult circumstances.

In his remarks at the event, municipal People’s Committee Chairman Le Trung Chinh highly praised the Association for its remarkable achievements in 2022.

He took the opportunity to thank domestic and foreign benefactors for joining efforts with the Association and the city administration to perform well the city's common tasks and ensure social welfare.

On the occasion, 7 organizations and 11 individuals were awarded with Certificates of Merit from Chairman Le Trung Chinh for their active involvement in the ‘Helping poor households overcome difficulties and protect children's rights’ emulation movement 2022.

The Da Nang Association of Charities and Children's Rights Protection was honoured with the emulation flag in recognition of its active involvement in protecting children's rights in 2022 by the Viet Nam Association for the Protection of Children’s Rights.
