According to the Da Nang Department of Social Insurance, an amount of 100 million VND or more were paid by the national health insurance fund to each of 2,130 patients to cover the costs of their medical examinations and treatment in 2022.

Overall, the city’s health insurance expenditure amounted to VND 2,334.3 billion in 2022, an increase of 27.7% over prior year. In particular, many people with incurable illness and chronic diseases were paid  hundreds of millions of dong in a full and timely manner by the city's social insurance agency, thereby helping them and their families reduce their financial burden for their treatment costs.

Among them were 2,130 patients who got a payment of 100 million VND or more while 12 others received an amount between VND 500 million and VND 680 to help with covering the cost of treatment.

It is known that in 2022, Da Nang’s social insurance agency entered into contractual agreements for providing medical examinations and treatment with health insurance coverage with 23 public healthcare facilities and 15 private others across the city. Included were 6 first-class hospitals, 12 second-class facilities, 9 third-class medical establishments, and 11 fourth-class ones.
