The General Department of Natural Disaster Prevention and Control under the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development in collaboration with the ASEAN Coordinating Centre for Humanitarian Assistance on disaster management (AHA Centre) to launch the 14^th training course on ASEAN Emergency Response and Assessment Team (ASEAN-ERAT) in Da Nang on Friday.

The event saw the participation of more than 50 delegates from 10 ASEAN member states, the AHA Centre, the ASEAN Secretariat and the United Nations' disaster agencies.

In addition to theoretical learning, from February 18 - 20, the trainees participate in drills to respond to natural disasters and provide humanitarian assistance.

On February 22 , in Da Nang, more than 20 delegates from 10 ASEAN member countries, AHA Center, and ASEAN Secretariat will took part in ASEAN-ERAT-hosted meeting.

From February 22 - 24, over 30 delegates from ten ASEAN member countries, the AHA Center, and the ASEAN Secretariat will participate in a meeting hosted by The ASEAN Committee on Disaster Management (ACDM) on prevention and mitigation of impacts of natural disasters to assess the progress of implementation of activities under the management of the working group.

According to the General Department of Disaster Prevention and Control, this year, Viet Nam is the host of the ACDM, affirming the country’s role in ASEAN cooperation on disaster management.
