Da Nang policemen honoured for saving drowning pupil

Vietnamese Minister of Public Security General To Lam has sent a letter of appreciation to three policemen in Da Nang who helped save a junior high school pupil from drowning.

According to the content of the letter, General To Lam said the national public security force have recently taken many brave actions to save the lives of hundreds of people in distress, bringing happiness to many families.

Earlier on February 9, immediately after receiving news about a drowning child, 3 police officers in Hoa Tien Commune, Hoa Vang District, Da Nang, promptly approached the scene and conducted rescue operations.

One day later, the Police Team of Fire Prevention and Fighting and Rescue Division in Ba Vi District, Ha Noi, successfully saved a man who fell into a well which was more than 25m deep, and only 50cm in diameter.

He remarked that the timely presence of cadres and police to help people in distress showed the spirit of courage, not afraid of hardships and sacrifices, eady to face dangers, and "when people need or are in trouble, public security force are always ready to help".

“On behalf of the leaders of the Ministry of Public Security, I acknowledge and highly appreciate three policemen in Hoa Tien Commune and the Fire and Rescue Police Team of Ba Vi District for their brave actions in saving people in distress" General To Lam wrote in the letter.

The Minister of Public Security also suggested that Directors of the Ha Noi and Da Nang Public Security departments should promptly reward aforementioned policemen.
