As many as 1,000 trade union members, along with public officials and employees across Da Nang took part in the first Voluntary Blood Donation Day in 2023.

According to Chairwoman of the Da Nang Trade Union of Public Employees Nguyen Thi Dung, in response to an appeal for blood donation made by the municipal Steering Committee for Voluntarily Blood Donation Mobilisation, the unit called on 750 trade union members, public officials and emnployees citywide to participate in the first voluntary blood donation. However, in fact, nearly 1,000 people participated in the campaign on Satuday morning.

“The annual event aims has a profound human meaning, showing the spirit of solidarity of trade union members and workers” Mrs. Dung said.

As a result, a total of 709 units of blood were collected during the event, which will be added to the city's blood reserve for sake of serving the emergency and treatment of patients at hospitals.
