Mrs. Thuy shared that children with disabilities have to face many difficulties and disadvantages in life. Therefore, she believes that the best way to help them confidently integrate into the community is to teach them a stable job, so that the underprivileged can confidently stand on their own feet.

Stepping into Mrs. Thuy’s special hair salon, guests will be greeted by hearing impaired staff and then write their requests on a small piece of paper. After that, Ms. Thuy will cut the main parts, and deaf staff will do other easy tasks.

Mrs. Thuy said that she understood the challenges for disabled people when learning hairdressing so she wanted to create the best learning environment as possible for deaf people.

She added the most difficult thing in the process of teaching here was the language barrier. Initially, when she accepted three children for vocational training, she had to learn the "language" of deaf children such as how to talk with signs and make signs.

Mrs. Thuy is both a teacher and a mother to teach them and help them get used to the new working environment. Aside from free training courses, she supports disabled children with food and living expenses during the apprenticeship.

Vo Thi Nguyen Huong said that thanks to Ms. Thuy’s active support, she could learn haircutting. She looks forward to working and becoming a useful person in the society, thereby reducing a burden to the family and society.

Mrs. Nguyet Nga, a customer at the salon, said "I was introduced to this salon by a friend. All deaf employees there were very cute and nice. I got a lot of compliments after getting my hair done there so I also recommended this salon to my family members and friends".

Besides providing free training courses for hearing impaired children, Mrs. Thuy gets involved in volunteer activities, presenting gifts to children with disabilities, and giving free haircuts to children at the Tuong Lai (Future) Special School.

She hopes to open more free training courses for unfortunate, orphaned and disabled children in order to help them have a brighter future and firmly step into life.
