More than 500 Youth Union members and young people in Da Nang actively participated in beach cleanup activities along coastal Nguyen Tat Thanh Street under the freshly-launched environmental improvement programme.

Addressing the the launching ceremony of the aforementioned programme on Monday, Secretary of the Da Nang Youth Union Nguyen Manh Dung lauded it for showing the volunteering and impulsive role of the city's youth in protecting the environment.

Secretary Dung hoped that Youth Union members would be more aware of environmental protection and climate change mitigation and mobilise their families, relatives and friends to join hands to protect the environment,significantly contributing to raising community awareness in marine environment protection to head towards building Da Nang into a city with clean green environment.

Upon the launching ceremony, Youth Union members and young people collected nylon bags, plastic bottles, and general waste along the Nguyen Tat Thanh Beach and organised the removal of illegal advertisements.

On the same day, the Da Nang Youth Union officially kicked off the ‘Meaningful Day’ movement, responding to the ‘Dedication Aspiration - Youth Model’ theme of the Youth Month 2023 from March 1 to 31.

Specifically, young people across the city are highly recommended to carry out the ‘Meaningful Day’ movement by posting positive deeds, beautiful actions, personal efforts in studying and working every day on individual social networking sites to set bright examples for others to follow.
